International Paper Uses Isomag Bearing Isolators on Falk 345A2-A Gearbox

International Paper, in Grande Prairie, Alberta found Isomag bearing isolators to be the perfect solution for their Falk 345A2-A gearbox. This double reduction right angle output shaft speed reducer is used to drive a conveyor in the woodyard. This Falk gearbox experienced problems of ingress of water into the bearing housing surrounding wet conditions, eventually causing the gearbox to fail. The one weakness of this Falk gearbox is the lip seals that are installed. Oil seals wear out in about 6-8 months on continuous use. Then the contamination of, or loss of lubrication from the bearing house starts. On top of that, the lip seal wears a grove into the shaft, making it necessary to either refurbish the shaft or get a new one when it's time to repair.

Falk 345A2-A

When International Paper specified Isomag bearing isolators for their gearbox, they were very happy with their decision. The Falk gearbox has been running leak free and contamination free since then.

Isomag bearing isolators are a positive seal that wont damage the shafts of your gearbox, and work in horizontal or vertical up or down positions for the right angle gearboxes. Isomag bearing isolators also work perfectly in grease lubrication environments.
